Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 163 (VMM-163)”Ridge Runners-Evil Eyes”  is  based at MCAS Miramar, CA. The “Ridge Runners” were established on December 1, 1951, and have multiple missions including vertical replenishment and search and rescue. The Ridge Runners fly the MV-22B Osprey, manufactured by Bell-Boeing.
