During a CAP mission a Phantom pilot discovered that his left throttle was stuck at 100 percent. Eventually the port engine flamed out and the aircraft became uncontrollable forcing the crew to eject. (5)
USS Kitty Hawk, arriving on Yankee Station, crossing war zone limit line at 04:36. 05:50 commenced maneuvering on various courses and speeds while operating fixed wing aircraft. 19:05 completed operating fixed wing aircraft.
