CAPT DALE PHILLIP MYERS USN-RET SIGNAL CHARLIE
CAPT Dale Phillip Myers USN-Ret, former Commander, Helicopter Sea Control Wing One and Commanding Officer of HC-5 during its transition to HSL-31 passed away peacefully on February 18th. Born in 1933 in Baraboo, Wisconsin, and raised in Orange County, California, he graduated in 1955 with degrees in Landscape Architecture and Horticulture from California Polytechnic Institute. Dale’s career as a naval officer and helicopter pilot spanned 31 years and included deployments to Antarctica, Thailand, South America, Vietnam, Wales and remote islands in the Pacific. During his second career as a landscape architect, Dale designed local gardens, volunteered for public beautification projects and designed Buff’s Garden at 47th Street and Oceanfront Avenue. His wife of 62 years, Jan; children Pam Goggins (Jim), Karen Woodard (Pope) and Chip Myers; 8 grandchildren and many friends will continue to be inspired by Dale’s life of generosity and kindness.
