Rear Admiral Jan Cody Gaudio USN-Ret
| A graduate of Fayetteville-Manlius High School in 1969, Rear Admiral Jan Gaudio now resides in the small coastal community of Spruce Head, Maine. He serves as Town Selectman and on several community and non-profit boards, including the Marshall Point Lighthouse and Knox County Airport Advisory Council. He is also a rescue and recovery volunteer with Marine Mammals of Maine.
Until 2012, he served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer of the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS), a global non-profit service organization. The NMCRS mission is to provide, in partnership with the Navy and Marine Corps, financial, educational and other assistance to members of the Naval Services of the United States, eligible family members, and survivors when in need. Prior to joining NMCRS in 2006, Rear Admiral Gaudio served 34 years in the United States Navy and commanded both at sea and ashore. His last command was as the 84th Commandant of Naval District Washington, headquartered at the historic Washington Navy Yard. He was responsible for base operation support on 18 Navy installations in the National Capital Region and Maryland. He was also the first Deputy Commander, of the Joint Force Headquarters, National Capital Region (JFHQ-NCR), responsible for Homeland Defense of the nation’s capital. A New York native, Rear Admiral Gaudio received his Bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Brockport and a Master’s degree in National Security Affairs from the Naval Postgraduate School. He also completed a Federal Executive Fellowship at the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University and served as the Senior Fellow on the Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) Strategic Studies Group. |
