History of HSL-60 / HSM-60 Jaguars
Jaguars of HSL- 60 are the only Navy Reserve Helicopter unit for the SH-60B Lamps III helicopter established 2001 at NS Mayport. They are deployed in surface combatants and they are also used in counter-drug operations in the Caribbean Sea and Pacific Ocean. Later the Jaguars was redesignated to HSM-60 and currently stationed in NAS Jacksonville.
Helicopters have been a vital part our US Naval forces. With the introduction of helicopters the 101st Airborne division started deploying into battle mainly from helicopters as opposed to airplanes. An the helicopter patches are a representation of HSL-60 / HSM-60 squadron missions and deployments.
