Captain Sean Rocheleau originally hails from Hampton, New Hampshire. He enlisted in 1987 as an Anti-Submarine Warfare Operator and was subsequently commissioned through the Seaman to Admiral Program in 1996. He is a graduate of Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Florida, where he received a Bachelor of Science in History.
His operational assignments include; Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron (HS) 7 aboard USS John F. Kennedy (CV 67); Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron (HS ) 5 aboard USS George Washington (CVN 73); Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron (HS) 11 aboard USS John. F. Kennedy (CV 67) and USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) and Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron (HS) 3 aboard USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71). He commanded Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 4 and Fleet Replacement Squadron Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 3.
Rocheleau’s shore tours include Commander Helicopter Antisubmarine Wing One; Joint Staff serving in the J-7 Directorate where he served as Deputy Director of Technical Teams, providing live, virtual and constructive simulation for Combatant Command Exercises and Mission Rehearsal; Assist Chief of Staff Officer Aviation Readiness for Commander Naval Air Force Pacific. During this tour he worked a myriad of initiatives for the Air Boss with a focus on Strike Fighter readiness, CVW-5 DPRI and TACAMO certification wholeness.
Rocheleau has over 3500 flight hours in the SH-3H and H-60 F/H/S aircraft. He is entitled to wear the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (3), Air Medal (2), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (5), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3), and various unit and campaign decorations.
