Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 161 (VMM-161)”Greyhawks”  is  based at MCAS Miramar, CA. The “Greyhawks” were established on January 15, 1951, and have multiple missions including vertical replenishment and search and rescue. The Greyhawks fly the MV-22B Osprey, manufactured by Bell-Boeing.
