Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 161 (VMM-161)”Golden Eagles”  is  based at MCAS New River, NC . The “Golden Eagles” were established on June 30, 1952, and have multiple missions including vertical replenishment and search and rescue. The Golden Eagles fly the MV-22B Osprey, manufactured by Bell-Boeing.
